How accurately can you draw with a graphics tablet? Could I draw with one as well as I can with pencil + paper

Since I have begun animating, the only way I’ve found I can utilise my drawing/painting skills on the computer is to draw/paint on paper and to scan the image in.

I want to draw/paint immediately into a program on the computer + bypass the scanning etc.
But is it possible to recreate highly accurate, controlled drawings/paintings with a graphics tablet?

Could I do this http://www.charlotteodonnell.com/A%20Level/’Prawn’%20(detail)%201%20Page.html

or this

on a graphics tablet?????

If so, which one is best?

Don’t give up on the tablet. Just try to rememer how long it took to develop good drawing skills with a regular pencil. For most people, that part takes years. Since you already know how to draw, then adapting your skills to a tablet won’t take anywhere NEAR as long, but, like anything new, it DOES take practice.

In time, you can learn to draw as well on a digital tablet as you do with a pencil. The added advantage is in how fast your projects go. You already recognize that you can skip the scanning step. Working directly on the computer offers the speed of making adjustments and other changes very quickly.

For example, if I have an illustration for a client that he likes, but wants to change the position of the head, or a different set of clothing, I don’t have to start a new drawing from scratch. I only have to make changes to those parts need while the rest remains the same.

AND, the tablet’s stylus functions as a mouse, too. That means that you don’t have to reach for the keyboard or mouse everytime you want to save, zoom in, open up a file and so on. If I can save dozens of motions in an hour, by the end of the day, I have a LOT more work done.

Believe me, in graphic design time really does equal money!

A Matlab Companion for Multivariable Calculus

A Matlab Companion for Multivariable Calculus

$55.88

It can be very difficult to visualize shapes in three dimensions — especially when it involves using multivariable calculus. The geometric content of concepts such as partial derivatives is hard to convey in the two-dimensional world of pen and paper. Computer graphics are the perfect tool for presenting the many geometric concepts of multivariable calculus. Jeffery Cooper has accomplished this feat in writing A MatLab Companion for Multivariable Calculus.
