Pci Graphics Card
Is there a PCI graphics card that I can pair with my PCIe geforce 9800 GT?
9800 GT is PCI Express and I don’t have another PCI Express port on my board. I do have 2 unused normal PCI ports but all of the 9800 GTs I’ve seen use PCIe. From what I’ve heard, you need two of the same card for dual cards. Any Ideas?

yes as MB has stated you need two identical pci-express cards and a sli/crossfire enabled motherboard if you want to run dual graphic cards,this is the only way you can run two or more graphic cards in the same pc
in regards to standard pci cards these and agp cards can only be run as single cards,however you can run agp cards with ageia physx add-on cards,these are cards that run physx calculations and can be used with either pci-express or agp cards,however geforce 8 series card and later have the “physx” feature built into the card
and since you have a geforce 9800gt you have physx support anyway,however another way around this would be to buy a physx card ( http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/info_4167.html ) and use this for your physx calculations leaving your 9800gt free to run the graphics
people with sli enabled motherboards use dual cards,and use one of the 2 cards for physx and the other for graphics…however you dont have to do this,you can use both cards for graphics and physx
solution : sli enabled motherboards have dropped in price and you can buy one for less than £60,for example the “Asrock motherboard N7AD-SLI LGA775 DDR2 micro ATX”( http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/39895/Asrock-motherboard-N7AD-SLI-LGA775-DDR2-micro-ATX )..this is just £62.97 inc VAT and apart from having sli support it has 6 x sata ports and support for basically all intel processors this represents excellent value….
