Wacom intuos is the best.. If your going to get one, get a good one so it don’t hold you back when you start getting better with it. It would be ashamed to buy another one in 6 months, then have to sell a bamboo.. why not go for the gusto and get top of the line, and if it proves to be too much in the future sell it and downgrade.
then you can have the money for a bamboo, and a few other goodies too, but if you progress to that Point, then you already have the right equipment.
This is how I operate, and iv not been disappointed yet. I mean I know they cost more.. but you get more for the money, compare the features and decide how detailed you think you can or will get.
